I realize that that sounds totally insane, but before you send for the men in white coats, bear with me. So, what is that then? The PTO forks and goes to each side of the truck, and there's a front to back drivetrain on each side of the truck, it looks like?

Exactly so - power split in the middle of the truck, separate drivelines down each side. Undercarriage as smooth as a Ken doll.
